Jewels For Life serves families with a wide range of abilities, languages, and devices. This site is designed to meet that work, not work against it.
We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA.
We design and test against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at the AA conformance level. That means this site aims to meet criteria for color contrast, keyboard operation, screen-reader compatibility, motion preferences, and text resizing.
Accessibility is never finished. We test as we build, fix issues as we find them, and welcome reports from people who use the site every day.
What this looks like in practice
- All meaningful images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them.
- Color is never the only way information is conveyed. Headings, icons, and text labels reinforce meaning.
- Body text meets a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background. Large headings meet at least 3:1.
- All interactive elements (links, buttons, form inputs) are reachable with the keyboard alone, in a logical order.
- Focus indicators are visible and never removed.
- If you have prefers-reduced-motion enabled in your operating system, animations are reduced or disabled automatically.
- Pages support browser zoom up to 200% without breaking layout.
- Forms have visible labels, helpful error messages, and inputs sized for comfortable touch (at least 44 by 44 pixels).
